What does Copart do?
As an online auto auction Copart has vehicles for every type of buyer. Whether you are a business owner, dealer or individual Copart has something for you. We have cars, trucks, SUVs, boats, motorcycles, industrial vehicles available in our auction with more added every day.
Who can buy from Copart?
Copart sells vehicles intended for private, recreational or commercial use. These vehicles have “clean title” or salvage ownerships. Copart sells to dealers, dismantlers, repairers/rebuilders, exporters and private individuals. Copart sells these vehicles online through our website using Copart’s patented VB3 auction technology. Is there a Copart location near me?
Copart has at least one location in almost every province and we’re expanding every year. Internationally, we have locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates.
You can find a the Copart location nearest to you on the Locations page on our website or by using the Copart mobile app. Here you can view inventory, enter lice auction and find contact information on each individual location page. The Locations pages make bidding and buying from a single location convenient, be sure to add your favourite location to your bookmarks for quick access.
While the location of the auctions does not matter to some Members, many buyer prefer to bid on vehicles that are close to them. These lists make it easier for Members to find the vehicles they would like to preview in person and to arrange the transportation of vehicles that have been purchased.
On the Copart Mobile App you can tap the “Vehicles Nearby” button to find a list of vehicles up for auction in your area. Members can also use the Vehicle Finder to search Copart inventory and can filter vehicles by location, province and postal code.
When and where are the auctions?
Copart auctions are 100% online and take place Monday through Friday. These auctions can be viewed via the Auctions tab or by going to the Member Dashboard once logged in. You can also join Copart auction on the Copart Mobile app by selecting “Today’s Auctions”. This option will allow you to see live auction and upcoming auction for that day.
Each location’s auction is scheduled to run on a certain day of the week at a specific time. You can check when your favourite auctions are set to take place by viewing the Auctions Calendar, this will populate all of the auctions scheduled in the next few weeks (please note auctions may not appear until a minimum number of vehicles have been allocated to that date).
Members will also be able to join our evening auctions, referred to as “Night Cap Sales”, these auctions run Monday through Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Night Cap Sales are a combination of vehicles from multiple locations that did not sell in the auctions that ran during the day. These auctions appear on the Upcoming Auctions and the Auctions Calendar pages with the other auctions, and are marked by “*NCS.” **Please keep in mind that these auctions are run in USD, all bids and final sale prices will be in USD even for vehicles located at Canadian locations.
How can I start bidding and buying vehicles on the website?
If you would like to bid on vehicles in Copart’s 100% online auctions, you will need to be a Basic or Premier Member. As a Basic Member you will have limited Buying Power, whereas if you select a Premier Membership you will have substantial Buying Power, including the ability to bid on multiple vehicles at once, along with other benefits like priority Member Services phone support. Once you are registered, you can start browsing our inventory of trucks, cars, SUV’s, trailers and more, to find the vehicle you are looking for. In Canada, all vehicles located in all provinces except Alberta will require a business license to bid. Unsure of whether you will be eligible to bid on a vehicle? What are Copart authorized representatives and is there one in my country?
Copart authorized representatives are located in various countries across the globe. These representatives may be able to assist international buyers with the export/ import of vehicles to their country.
