How to Search for Vehicles

Welcome to Copart.ca! In this video, we’ll take a look at the new and improved search results page. It’s even easier to find the vehicles you’re looking for with the new smart text search engine. We’ll also go through saving searches for later and adding individual lots to your watch list.

First, sign into your Copart account. If you aren’t already a member, please visit www.Copart.ca/register to get started today. From the Member home page, select Vehicle Finder which can be found in the drop-down menu under the Find a Vehicle tab at the top of the page. From here, you will be able to search based on categories such as featured items, vehicle types, popular makes, bid based, damage, ownership documentation type and source. You can also search for a vehicle by VIN number or Lot number using the designated search fields.

Now, let’s search for a vehicle. For instance, if you were looking for a Honda Odyssey, you can search for either Honda or Odyssey. When searching for a vehicle, you’ll notice our smart text search engine at work. Our smart text search technology suggests vehicles to help you find what you need quickly.

Now, we’ve made it even easier to find exactly what you’re looking for. The search results page can be modified to best fit your buying habits. Adjust the amount of vehicles shown per page, hide the images thumbnails and compare selected vehicles. You also have numerous filter options in the left-hand toolbar that can be modified. You can narrow results by make, model, year, mileage, location, document or title type and much more. Streamline your vehicle search by using the search boxes within the filter section to find what you need quickly. Search for vehicles near you by entering a zip code or reduce the number of search results by using the Search this List function. To view a search results page again, click on the Save Search button at the top of the page. Name your search and save it.

Take a closer look at vehicles without leaving the search results page. Just click on the image thumbnail to see a pop up with all ten large images. You can also view the Lot number, time until the auction begins and current bid price. Even add the vehicle to your watchlist from this pop-up. You can also add any vehicle to your watch list by selecting the Watch button next to any vehicle on a search results page. Once the button changes to Remove, your vehicle has successfully been added to your watch list.

To view the vehicles on your watch list, select the Dashboard tab or select Watchlist in the drop-down menu under the Find a Vehicle tab. You can also always access your complete watch list from the Copart app home screen.

From the My Watch List page, you can view all your saved Lots. You can apply all the same filters on your Watch List page as previously shown on the Search Results page. To make sorting and viewing your watch list even easier, you can also select the export button to download the list to an Excel worksheet.
