VB3 Auction Technology
Our VB3 auction technology is a 2-stage bidding process, allowing you to bid well before the live auction begins.
BUY IT NOW
PC/Online/iPhone/iPad
Description: Purchase a vehicle immediately for the sellers list price. This option is only available for certain vehicles. You can filter your search results to only view Buy it Now vehicles.
Timing: Once a vehicle/ item is listed on our website, if applicable, you will be able to choose the Buy it Now option. Note: You must choose this option prior to the beginning of the live auction (1 hour before the auction start time).
Benefits: Ideal for members who do not want to wait until the auction date and do not want to compete with other members to purchase the vehicle. Buy it Now allows you to know the sale price and complete your purchase in the same day.
PRE-BIDS
PC/Online/iPhone/iPad/Yard Kiosk
Description: Enter your max bid price for the vehicle. If you are the highest pre-bidder, our BID4U program places incremental bids on your behalf during live bidding. We’ll send you an email or notify you via our mobile app if you are outbid.
Timing: You can pre-bids on auction items provided they are within two items of the live auction block.
Benefits: If you have the highest bid prior to the start of the auction, you will be able to activate BID4U which will bid on your behalf in the Virtual “Live” Auction — this is great for those who can’t attend on sale date.
LIVE BIDS
PC/Online/iPhone/iPad
Description: Incremental bids placed during the live auction. Bids can be increased by one or more increments at a time. Placing a bid that is multiple increments above the current bid qualifies as a Monster Bid. On the auction date, vehicles that are “on the block” will be open to live bidding.
Timing: Once live bidding begins (the vehicle is “on the block”) the countdown timer begins. Every time a bid is submitted the timer resets. If the timer reaches zero the bidding on that lot is closed.
Benefits: This type of bidding is great for those who are able to participate in the Virtual “Live” Auction. Live bidding on our website is fast and fun! Non-members can view live auctions to see how the live auction works before bidding/ participating in any auctions.
COUNTER BIDS
PC/Online/iPhone/iPad/Telephone
Description: Vehicles that are sold in the live auction with a Minimum Bid requirement or “On Approval,” may be subject to counter-bidding. The seller may send the buyer a counter bid after the Virtual “Live” Auction ends. The buyer has the choice to accept, decline or counter bid back to the seller.
Timing: The buyer and the seller have until 5pm PST of the following business day to negotiate a sale price.
Benefits: This feature allows the seller to view the best offer before making a final decision. Tie Bid Policy: In the event of a tie bid Live bids are superior to pre-bids of equal amount.
